BRIAN AHEARN – VOCALS

Brian Ahearn began singing as a child, starting with musical theater and his family’s record collection. Upon hearing Van Halen’s “Runnin’ with the Devil” from the movie “Little Nicky”, Brian was instantly hooked on the enduring power of rock n’ roll! After performing with local metal bands and attending Columbia College Chicago, Brian forged a new following in the karaoke scene, belting out both ballads and heavy hitters. In 2024, this singer returned as a semi-finalist in Karaoke Knockout, a national contest held by members of Glee, which raised almost $1,000,000 for adoption. Bearing a voice almost as big as his heart, Brian flies the flag for Mean Street – Chicago’s Van Halen Experience, as the bridge to bring his community together and soon the world!

ANTHONY GARCIA – GUITAR

Anthony Garcia began playing guitar at the age of 10, but was exposed to Rock ‘n Roll at a much younger age. He was influenced by many guitarists over the years, including Eddie Van Halen. Anthony has studied various styles of guitar through his time, but mainly blues rock and metal. He took a break in college to study classical guitar, but returned to his rock roots when Eddie passed away. Though he has filled in for a few bands and played with other musicians, Anthony had never been in a band of his own. He is honored to take on the role of Eddie Van Halen in Mean Street – Chicago’s Van Halen Experience.

He went to college at Marquette University where he spent a lot of his free time jamming on both guitar and bass. Jack is a diehard Bears, Cubs and Bulls fan. He also loves singing at karaoke bars. His favorite bass players are Cliff Burton, Mike Starr, Steve Harris and of course, Michael Anthony. This is Jack’s first experience in a band.

SCOTT MUZZEY – DRUMMER

Scott Muzzey started playing the drums over 50 years ago, in the local elementary school band. He got his first drum kit at about the age of 11 and started playing with local young musicians as a young teen in his hometown of Lombard, IL. At 18 he joined a local gigging heavy metal band, Hedstone, playing at many local Chicagoland bars in the early to mid 80’s. In 1986, he took what was to have been a temporary break, having become a first time dad. Well, that “temporary” break lasted about 30 years. About 10 years ago Scott started playing drums with other musicians again. In 2024, he started playing with a gigging cover band again, as well as joining Mean Street – Chicago’s Van Halen Experience.
